A World Of Window Styles Are Available At Pennine
Back in 1957, the then British Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, made the claim that the UK had “never had it so good” in reference to the economic boom at the time following the austerity that had blighted Britain after the Second World War.
Switch forward to 2019, and you could say that Britons have “never had it so good” when it comes to choices of replacement windows for their homes as there’s never been so many of them available, not least at Pennine.
Our window range continues to grow and grow and consists of numerous classic and contemporary window styles.
Here’s a little taste of what we’ve got to offer you…
Tilt & Turn Windows
If your local window cleaner has put up their prices recently, but you have a phobia of heights and don’t fancy scaling a ladder to clean your windows, what do you do? You install tilt & turn windows.
A tilt of the handle opens the top of the sash, while a turn of the handle opens the window inwardly, enabling you to wipe the frame and glass on safe ground inside the house.
This tilt & turn function also gives you more and greater ventilation options than a standard window design.
Heritage Windows
19th Century flush sash timber windows have been given a modern revamp by our talented team of designers. They’re now better known as Heritage Windows.
Though they have the same proportions, same detailing and same flush fitting of the sash as a traditional flush sash timber window, Heritage windows outperform them for thermal efficiency, security and durability.
We should also mention that they’re crafted from UPVC, not wood. However, you would do well to notice that as Heritage windows come in traditional finishes that feature a wood effect grain.
Casement Windows
The casement window dates back to the 18th Century when its frame was originally crafted from iron by Blacksmiths. 300 years on, casement windows are still widely loved and supplied in UPVC and aluminium.
They’re often used for properties located in rural areas and the window is hinged at the side, giving you a generous sideways and outwards opening that’s useful for ventilating the inside of a house when the weather is hot.
If you are replacing authentic timber flush casement windows, you will be pleased to know that we have a modern flush casement window range available.
We could tell you all about the other window styles we have in stock, but this would turn into a very lengthy blog post. It makes more sense for you to read about them in our full colour Windows & Doors brochure.
