How To Improve Your Old Conservatory
Trends change so quickly that it can be difficult trying to keep up with them. If it’s been sometime since you furnished and accessorised the inside of your conservatory, you may find that it looks a little tired and dated. A long-standing conservatory may also not provide the level of comfort that it once did.
Making an old conservatory fashionable and functional again is simpler than you may expect. We can think of numerous ways of revitalising the space.
Ultra Violet
Each year, the Pantone Color Institute announces its ‘Color of the Year’ and Ultra Violet is their choice for 2018. Described by them as a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade”, you can easily incorporate it into a conservatory.
Look out for Ultra Violet coloured throws, cushions, rugs, blinds and other essential furnishings that feature at least a hint of this vibrant shade.
This will demonstrate to guests that you’re right up-to-date with the latest fashions. Keep an eye out for the colour Pantone select for 2019 when you can refresh its look again with the world’s hottest colour.
Garden feel
One of the best things about a conservatory is how close it brings you to your garden. You could always incorporate a set of doors into the design (bi-folds, patio, French) if you want it connect directly to it.
It is also possible to bring some of the garden inside by putting potted plants on any available window ledges or putting a vase full of fresh smelling flowers on top of the main table.
The colours and scents they add will make you feel as though you’re amongst nature and don’t forget to open the windows of the conservatory in the summertime to further create that garden-like feel.
Solid Roof
The cold weather we have experienced over the winter may have prevented you from utilising your conservatory as much as you would like. This shouldn’t be the case.
Exchanging your existing polycarbonate or glass conservatory roof for a solid smart roof or insulated glass roof will resolve the problem as like when you first bought the extension, the internal temperature will be cosy in all weathers.
Be advised though that building regulations approval will need to be obtained in order for you to be allowed to do this and possibly planning permission. Our Fusion Roof is approved by Local Authority Building Control and will enhance your chances of getting the green light.
Pennine promises that implementing these ideas will make your old conservatory feel alive again! Anyone yet to own a conservatory who wants one should check out our conservatory range.
