Interior Design Ideas For Your Conservatory
One of the most exciting bits about getting a new conservatory installed at your home is accessorising and furnishing the space. Just like when you’re accessorising and furnishing any other room in your house, you should stamp your personality on the interior and make it a reflection of who you are and what you love.
Of course, a lot will depend on how you intend on utilising the space – most designate their conservatory as an additional living area.
Conservatory blinds
A huge amount of light invades the inside of a conservatory as there’s so much glass in its design and there may be occasions when you want to shut some of it off. A set of conservatory blinds will enable you to do this and come in handy if you simply want a bit of privacy.
There’s an absolute wealth of conservatory blinds available in a host of styles (vertical, Venetian, roller, Roman) and colours.
Select a shade that complements any cushions, throws, rugs etc. to give the conservatory a uniform look. Neutral colours are always a safe bet, though light pastel colours somehow manage to make conservatory interiors feel larger than they actually are. Remember also to measure up carefully ahead of their installation.
Bring nature indoors
A key selling-point of any conservatory is the fantastic views it provides of garden spaces – the glass surround gives you a glorious perspective of the outdoors.
You can bring some of the outdoors indoors by adding a few green potted plants (citrus trees, spider plants, tropical plants) to prominent places within the structure (coffee table, dining table). Keep them regularly watered.
Bi-folding doors
Incorporating bi-folding doors into a conservatory will give you a superb passage into the garden. Consisting of amazingly trim frames, they come with very prolonged glazed panes and open in a concertina style.
So that they don’t occupy any space inside the conservatory when being folded open, request that they open outwards into the garden rather than inwards. You can have anything from a 2-door bi-fold to one made up of 7 individual door leafs – it all depends on how much available wall space you have.
