For several generations, this extraordinary home has been one of the stand-out properties in its respective locality. So that it retained that status in the long-term, it needed new replacement windows that were sympathetic to the old window design which boasted that timeless leaded pattern. We managed to produce a modern window offering that fitted the bill and then coloured them with a pure cream finish that mixes together white and brown shades. Looking at them, you’d swear that they’d been an ever present fixture.
The individual glazed sections are kept in place by the leaded strips and the windows can be operated via the meticulously crafted handle, the type of handle style you would find on period windows. Some similarly stylish handles are also attached to the cream coloured French doors. Carefully designed so that they slotted into what was a compact aperture, they generate a spacious opening to the outside of the house where that almost maze-like garden can be navigated again and again.
